Marshall O. Beilke, 90, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on July 14, 2018. Marshall was born in Wausau, WI on September 5, 1927 to parents Frank and Dorothy Beilke Starzinski. He spent his childhood in Wausau and graduated from Wausau HS in 1945 and went to University of Wisconsin on the G.I. bill. He joined the Navy at the tail end of World War II where he was dispatched to Great Lakes Naval Base and was present for the atomic bomb tests on Bikini Atoll. Upon graduation from U of W, he went into life insurance where he worked until retirement. His profession took him to Chicago, Detroit, Philadelphia and NY before settling in early ’60s in Carmel, IN where he worked the remainder of his career for AUL (One America). Marshall is preceded in death by his infant twin brother and his wife, Iris, whom he wed in 1951, as well sister Bonnie. Marshall is survived by sons Richard and Ron (Cindy), and daughter Susan (Mark), along with grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Elaine, Greg, Mallory, Evan, Julia and Sarah, and niece Diana. In honor of Marshall, donations can be made to the University of Wisconsin Alumni Club – Indianapolis Chapter (https://secure.supportuw.org/give/) to provide scholarships for deserving students.
Visitation will be held on Saturday July 21, 2018 from 3:00pm-4:30pm at Flanner Buchanan – Broad Ripple, followed immediately by a memorial service. A celebratory gathering will take place at the home of his son, Ron, following the service.
