Marshall Todd Gantt passed away unexpectedly on December 25, 2024 at age 24. He was born on September 25, 2000 to Randall and Emily Gantt in Noblesville, Indiana.
Marshall graduated from Carmel High School in 2019. He was passionate about helping kids, and worked at Washington UCC in Cincinnati, Ohio as a summer program counselor for inner city kids. After college, Marshall aspired to work with kids as a therapist or guidance counselor as a mental health advocate.
Marshall was a senior at Indiana University studying Psychology when he was hit by a car as a pedestrian on April 23, 2023. He suffered a traumatic brain injury and several internal injuries from the accident that required full time care.
Marshall was loving, funny, generous, and too smart for his own good. He loved IU sports, penguins, dogs, the Indianapolis Colts, the St. Louis Cardinals, hoodies, music, legos, video games and spending time with his friends.
He is survived by his parents, Randall and Emily, his sister, Maddie, and his grandfather and namesake, John Marshall Gantt, along with many friends and extended family members who will miss him deeply and carry on his legacy. Marshall was preceded in passing by his grandparents, Jack and Yoshiko McWhorter and Nadine Gantt, and family dogs Sluggo, Semme, Duke, and Winnie.
There are no words to express our gratitude for all of the prayers and support that Marshall received since his accident. We will cherish all of our memories with Marshall forever.
A memorial service will be held at 1 pm on Friday, January 3, 2025, at St. Peter’s UCC (3106 E. Carmel Drive, Carmel, IN 46033). Visitation is from 11 am to the time of the service. We ask that you wear your favorite hoodie to the service in honor of Marshall.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Marshall’s honor may be made to Camp Washington UCC.
