Marlane Rae Tisdale

Marlane Rae Tisdale, age 86, passed away on December 19, 2018.  She was born on September 6, 1932 to the late Raymond and Mabel Cook in Indianapolis, IN.

An award-winning educator, Marlane taught kindergarten for 40 years and served on the MSD Warren Township school board for 12 years.

She is survived by her children, Lisa (Tom) Wolf, Lynn Lines, Reginald L. (Maria) Tisdale II, Raymond Tisdale and Ronald Tisdale; grandchildren, Taylor Wolf, Andrew Lines, MacKenzie Tisdale and Dylan Tisdale.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Reginald L. Tisdale; and a grandson, Matthew Wolf.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 29, 2018 from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m. at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East.  In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Riley’s Children’s Foundation, 705 Riley Hospital Dr., Indianapolis, IN 46202.  Donation envelopes will also be available at the funeral home.

1994 – Indiana State University – Outstanding Early Childhood Educator Award

1996 – 2008 – Served on MSD Warren Township School Board

2000 – Served as President of the MSD Warren Township School Board

2003 – Entered the Warren Central High School Alumni Hall of Fame

2004 – 2006 – Served as a member of the Early Learning & School Readiness Commission – appointed by Governor Kernan

2007 – Indiana Department of Education – Bellringer Award

2015 – Indiana Senate Certificate of Special Recognition
