Marla Jeanne Mahern

Marla J. (Christy) Mahern, age 64, McCordsville, died May 11, 2020 after a long battle with breast cancer. Born September 13, 1955 in Honolulu, she was the daughter of John J. and Yolande M. Christy. Marla was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers Robert M. Christy and Thomas A. Christy. She is survived by her long-time companion Scott Bills, sisters Rena F. Christy (Donna Poole) and Susan C. Rockoff (Gary), nephew Daniel A. Rockoff, and niece Melanie F. Rockoff.

Marla was a graduate of Bishop Chatard High School in Indianapolis and attended Purdue University. She had been employed as a real estate financial advisor and a medical secretary prior to becoming a caregiver for her father and also for Bev Bills later in life. She was a gifted artist with a mind of her own and a flair for the dramatic. No stranger to mischief, she appreciated a good joke and was generally optimistic with a positive attitude, despite her circumstances.
