Life’s Journey

Mark, captivating, and blessed life began in Waukegan, Illinois, and developed in Prichard, Alabama.

Mark, beautiful life journey transitioned from earth to glory in Indianapolis, Indiana being embraced by the loving sight of his Family and his pastor, Pastor Jeffrey A. Johnson, II.

Mark was baptized at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Marshall C. Ezell and upon relocating to Indianapolis, Indiana, he with a tender and loving heart selected Pastor Jeffrey A. Johnson, Sr. as his Pastor and Eastern Star Church family as his family and church, as he sought to serve God through his Savior, Jesus Christ.

Mark was a Restaurateur.

Mark, A Beloved Friend, A Beloved Loved One, and A Beloved Family Member, who always possessed a welcoming smile while extending warm southern hospitality.

Mark in life and in death was as his Great Grandmother, Grandmother and Mother use to say was “Open-Handed.” In life he was a generous soul who possessed an unselfish and selfless heart for all humanity especially those who were considered to be the least of these and in death he remained true to his life philosophy of helping those whom are in need, that is why his eyes were donated to Vision First Indiana and his heart and lungs were donated to Indiana University Medical Center.

Mark’s wonderful loving four-legged best friend, his precious dog, Kilo an American Bully, will greatly miss him for his gentle, caring and attentiveness towards him coupled with his fresh food being prepared by Mark.

Mark was blessed with a nurturing, unwavering loyal, empathetic, firm yet comforting and supportive beautiful and loving older biological sister, and God gifted him with a younger sister who was a nurturing, unwavering loyal, empathetic, firm yet comforting and supportive, beautiful and loving sister, Deanine C. Shelton.

Mark, life journey was spectacular in many ways and upon his journey of life he experienced the fact that there are special relationship bonds which are forged and bonded with precious everlasting love, love that is indescribable but demonstrated through actions of unconditional love. Mark had this bond with his devoted nephew, Reginald O. Jones, Jr.

Mark, was Grateful with Gratitude, and his entire Family, especially his daughters, Chaslyn Joy Wenze and Chasity Frienzetta Jones, whom resides in Albuquerque, New Mexico, is greatly much obliged for the Entire Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital Staff and Team, whom extended to our beloved Mark, compassion and empathy while professionally enforcing strong ethical standards and providing insightful attention to myriad details with an unwavering selfless manner courageously being committed and dedicated to excellent healthcare for Mark.
