Mark Lewis Moore, MD, 69, from Zionsville, IN passed away on January 23rd, 2019. He was born on January 18th, 1950, in Rushville, IN the son of the late Richard “Phil” Moore and Elaine (Shady) Moore. He married Nancy Sue McClain on December 27th, 1971.
Mark was a 1968 graduate of North Central High School. He graduated with his Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Indiana University in 1971 after 3-years in Bloomington, where he was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. He graduated from Indiana University School of Medicine in 1975 and became a board certified Obstetrician Gynecologist (OBGYN) in 1979. Mark was a solo-practice physician for 20 plus years while working at St. Vincent Hospital and the Women’s Hospital in Indianapolis. He was a long-standing member of East 91st Street Christian Church, IU Varsity Club, and a season ticket holder for IU men’s basketball and football.
One of Mark’s greatest joys in life was being a devoted husband to his high school sweetheart and wife of 46-years (Nancy), who passed away in July of 2018. Another great source of pride for Mark was his role as a fantastic father to Brad and Todd, and a loving grandfather to his 5 grandchildren.
Mark is survived by his 2 sons, Brad (Jill) Moore and Todd (Ginny) Moore; 5 grandchildren, Ellie, James, Stella, Luke, and Dylan; and 2 brothers, Thomas (Suzy) Moore and Joseph (Marva) Moore.
Memorial services will be at 11:00 a.m on Friday, January 25th, 2019, at Flanner Buchanan – Carmel, 325 East Carmel Drive. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Online condolences may be shared by visiting flannerbuchanan.com.
