With heavy hearts, we announce the unexpected death of Mark Jeffrey Celmins of McCordsville, Indiana who passed away on Sunday, July 28, 2024, at the age of 62.
Mark is survived by his wife of 41 years Carol (Doyle) Celmins of McCordsville, Indiana. He is also survived by his two children: son Matthew (wife Rachel) of Indianapolis, Indiana, daughter Katie Celmins of Noblesville, Indiana, and one incredibly special grandson Liam (2.5 years old).
He is also survived by his mother: Charlene Moore of White Bear/Saint Paul, Minnesota, and five sisters: Shari, Dawn, Kim, Tracey, Trinity, and many nieces and nephews. He is proceeded in death by his father Glen Pemble.
Mark attended Washington High School in Saint Paul, Minnesota. He met the love of his life, Carol while working together. They married on October 23, 1982, in Saint Paul, Minnesota. One year later they welcomed their son, Matt and four years later their daughter, Katie. Mark’s career took he and his family from Minnesota to Cincinnati (Egghead), Indianapolis (HP and previous acquisitions), Houston (HP), and finally back to Indianapolis to work for Allison Transmission. He was always making lasting friendships along the way.
When you think of Mark, the first word that comes to mind, is Family.
Mark would do anything for his family and loved them greatly. Mark, Carol, and his kids are more than just parents/siblings, they are friends and each other’s rocks. They share countless memories such as visiting the Wisconsin Dells, their family happy place, going pontoon boating or attending concerts. Whether it was a drive with his Wife, golfing with Matt, or a motorcycle ride with Katie, Mark loved it all and would not trade a second of those moments. Bowling as a family, and coaching his kids, was a cherished past time the family shared. Mark loved his dogs, all kinds of music, was active in a poker league, and was the commissioner of fantasy football leagues for 20 years. Mark’s most recent, and favorite passion, was spending time with his Grandson Liam. They had an amazing bond that was special to see. Mark, known for his white hair and his contagious smile, will be missed by many. Although his years with his family and friends were cut short, he made an enormous impact on so many people’s lives.
