Marjorie Jean Cannon

Marjorie Jean Cannon, age 93, of Noblesville, IN passed away on August 26, 2018. Jean, as she was commonly known, was born in French Lick, IN on November 2, 1924 to her parents, Claude and Sylvia Mae (O’Donald) Turley.

Jean grew up in Southern Indiana before marrying her husband, Robert W. “Bob” Cannon, who served his country in the US Navy during WWII. While Bob was off at war, Jean entered the workforce. She saved up her money to help buy the families first home in Beech Grove, IN. During her career, Jean worked as a bookkeeper for her husband in the auto parts stores he owned and for Bob Phillips Ford. She also worked in sales at Wason’s, Kittle’s Furniture and Jacobson’s.

In her spare time, Jean enjoyed all sorts of arts, crafts and was an avid reader. She also enjoyed her involvement in a social sorority that she was a member of. She and her husband were active with the Shriner’s Horse Patrol; they loved to travel, square dance and host all sorts of parties and gatherings. Jean also loved the holiday’s- decorating, baking and just spending time with family and friends.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Sylvia and her husband, Bob. She is survived by her children: Robert Michael “Mike” Cannon, Claudia L. Cannon (Martin), and Steven R. “Steve” Cannon (Linda); grandchildren: Melissa Meyers (Jeff) and Meghan Fischer (Joseph); great-grandchildren: Dominic and Delphine Hartman; and sisters: Pat Webster, Betty Posey and Donna Zigler.

Friends may call from 11am until 12 Noon, Friday, August 31, 2018 at Flanner Buchanan- Washington Park North, 2706 Kessler Blvd, N. Dr., Indianapolis, where her funeral services will immediately follow at 12 Noon. Entombment will be in Washington Park North Cemetery.
