Marjorie C. Reagan passed away peacefully on December 30, 2022 in Indianapolis.
Marjorie was born in July 1930 to Bertha and John Varnau. She had two sisters, Regina and Joan, and four brothers, Richard, Wilbur, Thomas and Mark.
Marjorie grew up on a farm in Kokomo, Indiana. She was president of her senior class and graduated from Howard Township High School in 1948, followed by Good Samaritan School of Nursing in Kokomo in 1951.
Marjorie met her beloved husband, Charles D. Reagan, in June of ‘57 after he graduated from Notre Dame and was serving as an officer in the Air Force. They moved to Indianapolis and raised four children. She continued working part time as an R.N. at Community Hospital East. Marjorie and Charlie loved to go dancing together, playing golf and, after becoming empty nesters, travelling. She missed him greatly after his too-early death in 1995.
Marjorie was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a loyal Notre Dame fan (she asked when the next football game would be during her last hospitalization) and a vocal, enthusiastic supporter (sometimes a bit too enthusiastic!) when rooting on her grandchildren in their various athletic endeavors. Marjorie always dressed in style, enjoyed playing cards with her friends, and was a voracious reader of mystery novels during her later years.
Marjorie is survived by her children, Terrence Reagan, Kevin Reagan, Susan Reagan-Capshaw and Julie Phillips; brothers, Thomas and Mark Varnau and sister, Joan Hellmann; and her grandchildren, Bryce Reagan, Kelli Hickey, Nita Karns, Emily Capshaw, and Alec and Owen Booth.
