Marilyn Sue Lewis, 89, passed away on December 30, 2022.

She was born in Indianapolis on May 8, 1933, to Kenneth and Helen James.

Marilyn was a graduate of Howe High School and worked at L.S. Ayres in downtown Indianapolis.  She was introduced to her future husband, Jack, by a coworker (who was also his aunt), after he returned from serving in the Korean War.  After their courtship and marriage, they lived briefly in Indianapolis before moving to Greenfield, Indiana where they raised their family.  Marilyn was a homemaker and an active member of the United Methodist Church.  She enjoyed crafting, quilting, traveling and spending time with friends and family.  Marilyn and Jack retired to their dream home, a log home in Brown County, Indiana where they lived for many years.  Marilyn was treasured by her children, grandchildren and all who knew her.

 She is survived by her daughter, Karen McAllister, son-in-law, Bob McAllister; son Kevin Lewis, fiancé, Nita Robinson; granddaughter, Hailey Bair, her son Carson; grandson, Tanner Bair, wife, Anna Bair, their son, Malcolm; granddaughter Delaney Hyde; nephews, Kenny Raasch, Denny Raasch, Gary Raasch and their families.  

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Lewis; daughter, Brenda Lewis; parents, Kenneth and Helen James; brother, Ralph Raasch; nephew, Donnie Raasch.

A private entombment will take place in Washington Park East Cemetery. 

Memorial contributions in her name may be made to Alzheimer’s Association.
