Marilyn Jean Wertz Watt

Marilyn Jean Wertz Watt, 90, of Speedway, IN was born September 22, 1926 and passed away on November 29, 2016. She was born in Indianapolis, Indiana to John and Lenore Wertz, who preceded her in death. Marilyn graduated from George Washington High School in 1944. She married Harry D. Watt, Jr. on June 7, 1947. She was a homemaker and found great joy in caring for her family. Marilyn and Harry traveled extensively in the United States and several trips to Mexico and Canada. A highlight of their travels were three trips to Europe. Marilyn was an avid IU basketball fan. In younger years, she played a great deal of bridge. Her aqua-ex class, which she attended for 30 years gave her great exercise and many new friends.

Surviving to cherish her memory are husband of 69 years, Harry D. Watt, Jr., her two daughters and a son-in-law, Nancy J. Watt of Speedway and Barbara E. and Gary S. Crawford of Hudson, Ohio, two grandsons, Chad M. (Amy) Crawford of Akron, Ohio and Kevin B. (Dulcie) Crawford of Bowling Green, Ohio. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren that brought her great happiness, Caroline, Grant, Kyle, Colin, Micah, Caleb and Jacob.

Friends and family may visit from 11 AM until service time at 12:30 PM, Saturday, December 3, 2016 at Flanner and Buchanan – Speedway, 2950 N. High School Road, Indianapolis.
