Marilyn Ann Bleistein Curtis Layne

Marilyn Ann Bleistein Curtis Layne of Carmel, Indiana passed on to her eternal resting place on July 28, 2020.

She was born on May 25, 1930, daughter of Henry and Esther Bleistein.

Marilyn was a 1948 graduate of Southport High School in Indianapolis.  She continued her education receiving her nursing degree and worked as a loving, caring nurse until retirement.

Marilyn loved helping others. She was a hard worker and would go out of her way to be a good servant to those in need.  Her genuine sincerity and caring nature endeared her to everyone. She volunteered countless hours as a Senior Companion and Friendly Visitor through Primelife Enrichment in Carmel and the Hamilton County Shepherd’s Center.

Marilyn pushed herself to be involved and do her best at everything she did.  She treasured the fellowship she had at Pleasant Grove United Methodist and Northview Christian Church.  Her faith was very important to her, as well as the Bible studies and prayers she shared with friends and family.

She enjoyed reading, euchre and other card games, bingo, and good food.  She had a heart of gold, and above all, loved her family deeply.  She will be forever missed.

In addition to her parents, Marilyn was preceded in death by her beloved sons David and Dale Curtis.

Survivors include her brother Richard Peck; children Don and Chris Curtis, Dean and Jan Curtis, Diane Curtis Asher, Doug and Roberta Layne; daughter-in-law DeAnn Curtis; 10 grandchildren and 101 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Friday, July 31 from 12 to 1 PM with a Funeral Service beginning at 1 PM at Flanner Buchanan – Memorial Park, 9350 E. Washington St, Indianapolis.  Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. To view Marilyn’s service please visit https://youtu.be/xPXWwBd1CJc.
