Mariela U. Navarro

Mariela U. Navarro, 78, of Indianapolis passed away Thursday, August 17, 2017. She was born June 1, 1939 in Chinchina, Caldas, Colombia to the late Jorge and Arcelia Uribe.

Mariela was very proud of her Colombian heritage and shared many stories of Colombian music, food, and atmosphere with her family. She was married to her late husband, Ramiro Navarro, for 48 years. He was indeed the love of her life. Mariela was surrounded with close family who loved her dearly.

Mariela is survived by her children, Arleen (Nelson) Navarro Gonzalez and Jaime (Rosa) Navarro; her siblings, Hernando Uribe, Marina U. Pena, and Isabel Zea; her grandchildren, Sebastian E. Gonzalez, Daniel A. Gonzalez, Alex J. Navarro, Julian N. Gonzalez, Vanessa E. Navarro.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Ramiro Navarro and her parents, Jorge and Arcelia Uribe.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 26, 2017 at 2PM at Calvary Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest next to her husband. Services are entrusted to Flanner and Buchanan—Decatur.
