Marie K. Poisal

Marie K. Poisal, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, left this world on February 27, 2025, at the age of 83, in Greenfield, Indiana. Born on February 11, 1942, in Morgantown, West Virginia, to Earl and Erna Schmitz.

Marie dedicated over 30 years of her impressive career as a Systems Technician at Ameritech, exemplifying commitment and hard work. She graduated from Howe High School, laying the foundation for a future filled with achievements that extended beyond her professional life.

Outside of her family life, Marie was heavily involved in her community, volunteering her time at Emerson Baptist Church and being an active member of the Forester Pioneers. Her love for cats was equally as evident as her commitment to bettering the lives of those around her, reflecting her compassionate nature.

Marie is preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Erna Schmitz, who instilled in her the values of hard work and kindness that she carried throughout her life.

Her warmth and nurturing spirit were unmatched; she was a very loving and wonderful mother to her children William (Marci) Hunt, Robert (Diana) Hunt, and Cynthia Higdon. Marie's pride in her family was evident in everything she did, and she found joy in her role as a grandmother to eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Her family was truly her proudest accomplishment. Marie leaves behind her cherished siblings: sisters Earlene Cain and Loretta Blaze, and brother Earl Schmitz.

A visitation will be held in her honor on March 5, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Washington Park East, with a funeral service to follow from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the same location. 

Marie K. Poisal will be deeply missed by those who had the privilege of knowing her. Her loving spirit and generous heart have left an indelible mark on her family and friends, and her legacy will live on through the cherished memories she created throughout her life.
