Marie Hurt

Marie Hurt, 85, of Indianapolis, slipped quietly into the arms of our Heavenly Father on March 6^th, 2021. She was born in Stanford, Kentucky on March 23^rd, 1935, to parents Daniel and Rushie (Brock) Farris.

In 1956, she married the love of her life, Jake “Doc” Hurt. They shared 64 wonderful years of marriage, and would’ve celebrated their monumental 65th anniversary in a couple months.

Marie worked for Crown Packaging for many years before she retired.

She and Doc were dedicated, valued members of Bethany Mission Church.

Marie was a friendly, loving woman. She enjoyed gardening and being out in the sunshine. She and Doc loved to go out to eat, watch movies, and spend quality time together.

Marie is survived by her adoring husband Doc; her brother Robert Farris; special nephew Jamie Hurt and his children Ryan, Jacob & Kaylee; numerous loving nieces and nephews; and many sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.

Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings Lena, Janie, Christine, Daniel Jr., Delbert, and Johnny.
