Marie Edna Samulowitz

St. Charles, Illinois

Mrs. Marie Samulowitz, daughter of the late David & Edna Hanna, was born June 11, 1924 in her childhood home in Gessie, Indiana and passed away peacefully at the age of 96 on September 22nd, 2020. She attended college at Indiana State University. She then worked for the Bridgeport Brass Company in Indianapolis, IN where she met the love of her life.

She was united in holy matrimony to John Samulowitz in May of 1950. This union was blessed with seven children. John preceded her in death in November, 1994.

Marie will be fondly remembered by playing piano by ear, doing her needle point, coloring, completing many crossword puzzles and cooking around the holidays.  All cherished her for her kind and sweet spirit that infected everyone she met, and the stories she could tell and the lessons and love she provided as the great mother she was.

Her beautiful life will forever be honored and reflected in the lives of  her children: Annette Samulowitz of New Haven, CT; Christopher Samulowitz of Celebration, FL; Tina Weinfurther of Dallas, TX; Kurt Samulowitz of Noblesville, IN; Millie Reidy of Sun Valley, ID; Paul Samulowitz of Apollo Beach, FL; and Ted Samulowitz of Geneva, IL and daughters-in-law: Peggy Samulowitz of Celebration, FL; Donna Samulowitz of Apollo Beach, FL; and Bethany Samulowitz of Geneva, IL; and sons-in-law: Dan Weinfurther of Dallas, TX; and Keith Reidy of Sun Valley, ID; and nine grandchildren: Rebecca Samulowitz, Michael Samulowitz, Jack Reidy, Megan Reidy, Matthew Reidy, Joseph Reidy, John Samulowitz, Kurt Samulowitz and Ella Samulowitz; and her sister-in-law Betty Hanna of Gessie, IN; great grandchildren and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A visitation will be held on Monday, September 28, 2020, from 10:30am-12pm at Flanner Buchanan – Zionsville, 105 W. Pine Street, Zionsville, IN 46077. A funeral service will follow at 12noon also at the funeral home.
