Marianne Mueller Wilson

Marianne Mueller Wilson, 82, Carmel, passed away Sunday May 20, 2018.  She was born on December 17, 1935 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Grant and Evelyn (Elliott) Mueller.

Marianne is survived by her niece, Susan (Mark) McClain; nephew, Douglas (Debi) Mueller; niece, Diane (David) Scherb; seven great nieces; two great nephews; eight great great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in passing by her parents; husband, Thomas Wilson; and brother, Martin (Glenna) Mueller.

Marianne grew up in Irvington and as a young girl enjoyed dance classes at Kathryn Oliver Studio of Dance and took piano classes with her brother at the Arthur Jordan Conservatory of Music! She graduated from Howe High School in 1953 and still liked to keep up with any classmates that she could.

Marianne and Tom were married for almost 40 yrs prior to his passing in 1995.  They lived in Indianapolis for their early married years and enjoyed time spent in and around their pool.  Marianne worked at Indiana National Bank for 21 years as a secretary.  When they moved to Goshen, IN she worked for Burger Dairy as a bookkeeper and administrative assistant.  After Tom’s passing and her retirement, Marianne moved down to Carmel, IN to be near her mother Evelyn and brother Marty.

Marianne enjoyed traveling and she and Tom drove many places across the country, while Tom photographed places like the Grand Canyon and Niagara Falls.  With Tom being a member of the Moose Lodge and Marianne a Woman of the Moose, they spent many Friday nights at the Moose Lodge in Goshen, eating and playing bingo—always inviting family to join them when in town!  Marianne also enjoyed gardening, shopping and reading!  Not having children of her own, Marianne owned cats throughout her life, including Twitch and Patches, whom were like her children.

Marianne was diagnosed with non-Hodgkins lymphoma in 1997 and battled the cancer on and off for the rest of her life, in addition to other health problems.  Luckily, however, she was able to enjoy good quality of life for most of her years. About three years ago, not being able to live in her apartment alone any more, Marianne moved in to Carmel Health and Living (where her mother had had lived up until her death at 99 yrs of age!)  There, she participated in bingo, dining out and other activities when she felt up to it.  She enjoyed the people there and was well cared for, which put us at peace.

Visitation will be held from 10:00a.m.-11:00a.m. Friday June 1, 2018 at Flanner Buchanan – Carmel, 325 East Carmel Drive, Carmel, Indiana 46032, followed by a service at 11:00a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lymphoma Research Foundation.
