Maria H. Riggs

Maria H. Riggs, 83, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on April 26, 2020. She was born on June 15, 1936 to the late Hanz and Helena Seiler in Dusseldorf, Germany.

After completing high school, Maria worked for many various retailers as a store clerk in Germany and the United States. On her birthday of 1979 she married the love of her life, Michael R. Riggs and for nearly 6 years they lived together in Germany before moving back the USA in 1984.  She loved to make others happy.  She worked at several stores, from 1986 to 2004, in Esquire Plaza on Pendleton Pike.  She last worked at Pendleton Pike Kmart and was known for her friendly smile, personable demeanor, and foreign German accent. She had a kind heart and sometimes even made up the shortages of her customers.  If she had it, she would share it, be it money, food or time.

Maria is survived by her beloved husband, Michael R. Riggs; daughter, Elka Bressmo, Germany; stepson, Michael L. Riggs, Texas; grandchildren, Jalen (21) and Hanna Riggs.

She is preceded in death by father and mother, Hanz and Helena; daughter, Iris; bother, Freitz.
