Margie Beth Ledford

Margie Beth Ledford, 94, of Indianapolis passed away in her home surrounded by loved ones on October 17, 2018. She was born December 19, 1923 to Johnnie and Lina Hatcher.

Margie was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Ledford; her son, Bobby Ledford; ten sisters, Annie Mae Baladge, Birdie Hale, Annie Garrison, Carmen Myers, Dollie Cummins, Dovie Tatum, Edith Fears, Reva Lawrence, Ruby Bolin, Ruthie Gibbs and one brother, Johnnie Hatcher.

Margie has two living daughters, Sandra Hussion (Indianapolis, IN) and Wanda Holt, (Trafalgar, IN); six grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren whom she loved to spend her time with. Margie is also survived by her loving caretaker, Mary Johnson and one sister-in-law Norma Jean Hatcher.

For 44 years she parked cars at her home in Speedway and she enjoyed listening to the cars all summer. When it wasn’t race season Margie could be found bowling or sitting in the sun in her yard. Her family describes her as beautiful, feisty, sassy, and absolutely amazing. They emphasized that she was hilarious, lovingly telling her family to shut up! “Just a little friendly shut up!” She lived an incredible 94 years and her loss will be felt at the core of everyone who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be held Saturday, October 27, 2018 from 9:30am-1:30pm at Flanner Buchanan-Floral Park, 425 N. Holt Rd., Indpls. Funeral services will immediately follow at 1:30pm. Margie will be laid to rest at Floral Park Cemetery.
