Margene Jones

Margene Jones, age 98, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away peacefully at home on June 16, 2018. She was born in Missouri on February 21, 1920.

A private family ceremony was held where she was laid to rest next to her husband George R. Jones (1918-1987) at Washington Park East Cemetery.

A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, July 1 from 11 AM to 1 PM at the Pleasant Run Golf Course, 601 N. Arlington Ave, Indianapolis (in the Mallard Room inside the Clubhouse). Please come and share your memories of Margene with the family.

She formerly worked at Diamond Chain during WWII…at Wm. H. Block as supervisor of the cafeteria. She also was the former Director of Food and Beverage at Pleasant Run Golf Course…thanks to her special friends Bonnie and Denny Ford. On Friday nights, she enjoyed dinner with her family at the Steer-In. She had a love of birds especially cardinals, loved feeding the hummingbirds, was a talented cake decorator, and had a huge collection of figurines. She loved all animals, especially her most recent canine companion Goldie. She was a lifelong Cincinnati Reds fan, as well as the Colts and Pacers. Her family and friends will miss her every day.

She is survived by her daughter Jean Anne (James) Curtis and grandson Chris (Crystal) Shea and great grandson Xavier, as well as step-grandson David (Heidi) Curtis adding 7 great grandchildren. She also leaves behind her adopted daughter Donna MacNeur and adopted granddaughter Bethany MacNeur.

The family would like to thank the staff from Community Home Hospice for their care and compassion they provided to Mrs. Jones.
