Indianapolis

Indianapolis, Indiana – Margaret Frances Pike, 94, passed away on April 16, 2025, after being comforted by her family and friends.

Margie was born on November 24, 1930, to parents Robert & Cecil (Robins) Clark in Indianapolis, Indiana. She obtained her high school diploma later in life and held many jobs throughout, including an operator for Indiana Bell, a bookkeeper and accountant for multiple small businesses, and a receptionist for a daycare.

Her most important job, however, was to her family. A mom first and foremost, Margie raised six children with help from her husband James Pike, Sr. and even helped with her grandchildren as much as she could.

Social media before social media was a thing, Margie kept all her neighbors and family up to date on all the insider family news. Her extremely outgoing and friendly nature made her a wonderful mom and friend to all who knew her.

When she had time to relax, Margie loved to spend time in her garden, painting, or most of all; reading. She always had a book at her side, especially those in the mystery or biography genres. Additionally, she had read every book from the Chicken Soup for the Soul series.

In addition to her parents and her husband James Pike, Sr., Margie is preceded in death by her children Terry Pike, James Pike II, and Timothy Pike; and siblings John Wales, Donald Wales, Robert Clark Jr., and Ruthie Griffing.

Margie is survived by her daughters Shirley Slover, Sharon Ingram (Alan), Sandra Crute (Michael), grandchildren Kevin Slover, Jeff Slover, Ragan Bonica, David Bradd, Kacy Crute (Sheila), Cecily Crute, Mandy McBride (Mike); and great-grandchildren Keeyote, Kiaya, Joseph, Zuri, Niah, Lila, Rebekah, Joanna, Elijah, Ayedren, Bri, Brooklyn, Dominique, and Jordynn.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East (10722 East Washington Street, Indianapolis, Indiana 46229) from 4 – 8 pm. Funeral Services will be held the following day, Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at 1 pm at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East.
