Margaret "Maggie" I. Allen

August 29, 1933 — April 3, 2021

Carmel, Indiana

Margaret “Maggie” Allen passed away peacefully under hospice care on April 3, 2021 as the result of a major stroke at the age of 87.

She was born in a small town in Iowa to Frank and Edna Nelson, the youngest of five children.

In 1956 she married David Allen of Galena, Illinois, which was the start of 65 years of a wonderful life together filled with love, achievement and travel, both domestic and abroad.

She possessed many talents, one of which was a beautiful soprano singing voice and was a frequent soloist. In addition, she was an excellent golfer and has a “Hole in One Trophy” to prove it, but by far her major talent has always been her role as our loving and teaching: wife. Mother and friend. She nurtured her three children and their families: Daughter, Kelly Wade (Stan) and granddaughters, Allison and Rachel, Son, Daniel Allen (Anessa) and Son, Patrick Allen (Becky) and grandson, Matthew

She and her husband Dave have spent their entire married life in the Mid-west, the past 35 years in Carmel, IN.

Maggie has touched so many lives in a positive way and the outpouring of love and support for her family makes dealing with this loss much easier.

Funeral service will be Wednesday, April 7 at 12:00 pm in the Good Shepherd Chapel at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, where family and friends are invited to gather from 11:00 am until the time of the service.

We love you Maggie and pledge to carry on and spread to others the wonderful things you have taught us. God Speed Miss Maggie!
