Margaret (Michl) “Mic” Byrne, 95, of Indianapolis, passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2017. Born on June 29, 1921 in Haugen, WI to the late Joseph Albert and Anna (Stepanek) Michl. She worked for the US Army Signal Corps as a Cryptographer. There she met Ralph Emerson Byrne, they were married September 22, 1956 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hopkins, MN. Margaret and Ralph were world travelers and loved the land, her favorite place on earth was Hawaii. She was a lifelong Catholic and member of St. Matthew Catholic Church, Indianapolis. Survived by her children, Colette (Thad Grandbouche) Byrne and Dennis (Rachel) Byrne; grandsons, Emerson, Ethan and Eric Byrne; along with many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents; 4 siblings; and husband, Ralph. Visitation is on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 from 5 – 8pm at Flanner and Buchanan – Memorial Park. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 3, 2017 at 11am at St. Gabriel the Archangel- St. Joseph's Campus in Hopkins, MN with visitation 1 hour prior at the church. Burial will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, MN. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Co-Cathedral of St. Theresa Endowment Fund: 712 N.
