Margaret Laverne Conner of Jeffersonville passed away in Indianapolis, IN Wednesday, March 7, 2018.  She was born in Marysville, IN on October 30, 1926 to the late James Stephen Cartwright and Ethel M. Cartwright.  She moved to Jeffersonville after graduating from high school to begin her career as a bookkeeper.  After meeting her husband, the late Daniel Gordon Conner, Margaret made major contributions in helping him create a successful real estate business. Margaret was a member of the First Christian Church in Jeffersonville.  She enjoyed playing golf regularly and was a member of the Jeffersonville Elks Club and belonged to The Women’s Falls Cities Golf Association.  She was an avid bridge player belonging to several ladies bridge clubs and occasionally played in tournaments.  Among her many hobbies were knitting, sewing, cooking, traveling, entertaining, and reading.  Her true love was her family.
Margaret is survived by four children, Claudia Nole (Rick) of Lebanon, IN, Alan Conner (Laura) of Jeffersonville, Gwynne Lundy (Jeff) of Kingston Springs, TN and Julie Detherage (Andy) of Zionsville, IN; nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and her sister, Mildred Johnson of Otisco, IN.  She was loved by all and will be deeply missed.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Daniel Gordon Conner, her daughter, Gail Lynn Conner and seven siblings.
A celebration of her life will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 31, 2018 at Scott funeral home.  Visitation will be at the funeral home Saturday from Noon until the time of the service.
Donations in her memory can be made to the American Heart Association or the Alzheimer’s Association.
