Margaret K. Mcglothlin

Margaret Katherine (Roberts) McGlothlin, 95, of Camby passed away the afternoon of Monday, October 24, 2022, surrounded by family at Franciscan Health Hospital in Mooresville, IN.

Margaret was born in Franklin, KY on January 29, 1927, to Edward and Lucille Roberts. She was the eldest of Ed and Lucille’s three children – Margaret, Ed Jr. and Betty.

Margaret married Leo W. McGlothlin on September 13, 1947. They moved from Franklin, KY to Indianapolis, IN before starting their large family. Between 1952 and 1962, they had eight children: Steve, Don, Cindy, Ben, Rita, Jeff, Diann and David. Prior to Leo’s passing in 1992, Margaret and Leo had been married for 45 years.

While her children were young, Margaret was a homemaker. Once all of her children were in school, she then went to work outside the home, starting with Kentucky Fried Chicken at 10^th & Lynhurst in Indianapolis before going to work for American Fletcher National Bank on W. Washington St., which eventually became Bank One during her time there. After almost 18 years of service, Margaret retired from Bank One in 1992.

Margaret was a long-time member of Marwood Baptist Church. She really enjoyed spending time in fellowship with friends and family, whether in-person or on the phone.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, both of her siblings, one of her daughters (Rita Herald), and a grandson.

Margaret is survived by seven of her eight children and their spouses:  Steve (Brenda), Don (Joyce), Cindy, Ben (Terri), Jeff, Diann, and Dave (Cinda). Additionally, as a Grandma and Great-Grandma, affectionately known as Granny, she is survived by 10 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. Monday, October 31^st at Flanner Buchanan – Decatur Township at 5463 Kentucky Ave. in Indianapolis, with the funeral service starting at 11:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Zionsville Cemetery at 10555 Zionsville Rd., Zionsville, IN  46077.
