Margaret T. Ford, 92, of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2021, at Hoosier Village Health Center. She was a member of St. Alphonsus Liguori Catholic Church, and a former member of Sts. Francis and Clare, Nativity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, St. Michael Archangel, and Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Margaret was also a member of Slovenian National Home and KSKJ St. Aloysius Lodge #52. Margaret was born May 30,1928, to Frank and Mary Konechnik. She worked at Link Belt before marrying Arnold Ford Jr. on May 28, 1949. They were married for 55 years when Arnold preceded her in death. Margaret’s greatest accomplishment was raising her 10 children, and then becoming Grandma to 27 grandchildren and 49 great-grandchildren. Four great-grandbabies were waiting for Grandma in Heaven. Memories of Grandma’s house include Christmas pitch-ins, Easter Egg Hunts, homemade apple pie, cookies and milk, jigsaw puzzles, her flower gardens, singing “You Are My Sunshine,” and the best Slovenian Potica. Margaret’s surviving children are Judith (James) Watson, Karen (Michael) Haden, Roger Ford, Mark (Marie) Ford, Mary Kay (John) Nally, Peggy (Michael) Sullivan, Greg Ford, Jeannie (Joseph) Banich, Sheila Smith, and Jeffrey (Rhonda) Ford. She was also preceded in death by all her siblings: brothers Frank Jr., Louis, Anthony, and infant Joseph, sisters Anna Lekse, Sophia Lekse, Pauline Loviscek, Sylvia Stevens, Mary Zupancic, Helen Flajs, and infant Mary. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Alphonsus Liguori Catholic Church, 1870 W Oak St, Zionsville, IN 46077 on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. Private entombment due to CoVid restrictions.
