Margaret Lorene Barrier, 86, of Indianapolis passed away peacefully on October 26, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.
Margaret Barrier, a beloved mother, wife, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother, sister, and daughter who touched the lives of many with her warm spirit and her beautiful smile. Margaret had a profound love for country and bluegrass music, often spending joyful times at concerts with her best friend, Betty Sharp.
She cherished her moments at yard sales and dedicated countless hours to nurturing her beautiful garden. A devoted grandmother, Margaret loved attending all of her grandchildren's sports and cheering them on with pride.
Margaret shared a special bond with her father and was known for her friendly nature—truly, she never met a stranger. She is preceded in death by her parents, Guy Owen Parke and Elsie Elizbeth (Harper) Parke; her husband, Gerald D. Barrier; her twin daughter, Shanda J. Barrier; her sister, Inez Parker; and her brother, JD Parke.
Margaret's legacy of kindness and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She is survived by her loving daughters, Sandra J. Barrier, Cynthia D. Appleget (David), and Dana Michelle Leighty (Toby); grandchildren, Shauna Sedam, Janessa Barrier, Taryn Hensen, Stachia Appleget, Dylan and Damian Leighty, Jailan Coss, and Dalton Leighty and 14 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter and a host of other family and friends.
