Marcia Ann Morris

Indianapolis

Marcia Ann Morris was born in Indianapolis, IN on May 18, 1935. She was the first of eleven children born to Ralph Stanley and Julia Elizabeth Means. She accepted Christ at an early age at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church and was a member of the choir where she developed a deep love of music. Later, she joined Trinity Christian Methodist Episcopal Church. She continued her love of music as a member of the Jordan-Aires Choir. Marcia attended John Hope School #26 and Arsenal Technical High School. While in school she developed a talent for different mediums of art. She loved drawing, painting, and designing custom works of art. Marcia was employed at the Finance Center in Indianapolis. She later moved to Atlanta, GA where she was employed at NAPA Auto Parts before moving back to Indianapolis in the 2000s. To know Marcia was to know that she loved her family fiercely, and she loved the Lord faithfully. She was always found singing her favorite gospel songs, listening to her favorite Jazz albums, or laughing with her family and friends. She could light up any room she walked into with her infectious smile and free-spirited personality. She loved to worship and commune with the Lord, and couldn’t wait to tell anyone that she loved the Lord. On Friday, October 23, 2020, Marcia was called home to be with the Lord at the age of 85. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Cleo Means, and her brothers, Richard and Larry Means. She leaves to cherish her memory her sons, Willie Bobbitt (Nadine) and Benjamin Morris; daughters, Edith Bobbitt and Lee Ann Morris; brothers, Ralph Means (Sharon) and Hershell Means; sisters, Janet Means, Julia Tibbs, Maenell Means, Cynthia Reynolds, and Kathy Britton; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
