Marcella Pittsford Ruark

A memorial service is planned for January 15, 2018 at Meridian Street United Methodist Church in Indianapolis.  Calling will be from 11:30 until 1:00, followed by the service.

Marcella passed away at 102 years of age on November 20, 2017 in Indianapolis.  She was the daughter of Lawrence and Dortha Pittsford.  She graduated from Pendleton High School and Indianapolis Business College.  She married Eugene R. Ruark on April 20, 1937 and they were married until his passing in 1958.  She worked for the State of Indiana in the State House and the State Office Building until her retirement in 1980.  She was a member of the Meridian Street United Methodist Church for more than 60 years.  She also belonged to the Woman’s Department Club, Friendly Circle of Scottish Rite, and was an Honor Lady of the Murat Shrine.  She enjoyed family activities, ballroom dancing, traveling, and card groups, particularly euchre.

Survivors include her son Brian (Jody) R. Ruark of Indianapolis, grandsons Keith (Kristin) B. Ruark of Raleigh, North Carolina, Daniel (Becky) L. Ruark of Centerville, Indiana, and Craig E. Ruark of Cleveland, Ohio. Great grandchildren are Brynne and Grayson of Raleigh, and Mason and Dalton of Centerville.
