Maggie Elizabeth Davis
Was born February 9, 1933, to the late Henderson and Cleotra Davis in Shaw, Mississippi. Maggie went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 26, 2017, at Golden Living of Willow Springs Nursing Facility.
Maggie was a member of Christ's Open-Door Baptist Church. She was a member of the Mother's Board as well as serving in other church activities, under the leadership of the late Pastor Eugene Smith. She was loved by all while serving in many roles throughout the church.
Maggie was known by many names; the most used were Mag, Nana, triple OG, and Weeta, which she didn't like. She would say, "I got your Weeta!" Mag was a character, and to know her was to love her.
Maggie worked most of her life in retail, most recently retiring from Big Lots.
She was survived by her only child, Annette (Henry Sr.) Armour; granddaughter, Vickie Armour; grandson, Henry Jr. (Tonya) Armour; great-grandchildren: Channese Armour, Tatiana Armour, and TyShaun Armour; and two great-great-grandchildren: Zachury and Zaya Armour.
Maggie was the Godmother to many: Georgie, Show, Sharris, and Taleesha; all residing in Olympia, Washington.
She had three brothers: Alphonzo (Ruthie) Davis, Sr., Vernon (Patricia) Davis, Sr., and Bobbie Joe Davis; two sisters: Mary L. (Eddie) Miller, and Donna Townsend; all residing in Memphis, Tennessee; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death are Henderson Davis, Albertine Duncan, Jessie Nola Davis, and Chavonna Deserai' Lee. She also leaves a host of friends to mourn her passing.
Visitation will take place on Monday, October 2, 2017 from 10:00am to 12:00pm at Flanner and Buchanan – Washington Park North, 2706 Kessler Blvd. W. Dr., Indianapolis, IN 46228. Funeral service will follow at the funeral home at 12:00pm.
