Maeve Catherine O'Hara

Maeve Catherine O’Hara, 80, a lifelong Indianapolis resident, passed away after a short illness on Wednesday, October 5, 2022.  She was born on October 20, 1941 to Thomas James O’Hara and Phyllis J. (Moore) O’Hara.

Maeve graduated from Broad Ripple High School. She married Michael Anthony Harrison, and together they had 4 children.   For 25 years she was employed at Brylane Corporation as a customer service representative.    After retiring from Brylane, she joined the Red Hat Society and volunteered as a reading tutor in the Warren township schools.  She thoroughly enjoyed working with the first and second graders.

Maeve was a talented artist, and had a very kind and generous spirit, who put others needs above her own.  She had strong views on all things political, and enjoyed a spirited debate.

Maeve is survived by her three sons, Steven (Debbie) Harrison, J. David Harrison, and Mark Harrison of Kansas City; granddaughter, Lucy Harrison of Kansas City; siblings, Maureen O’Hara, Mark O’Hara (Carolyn), and Molly Akard (Ralph); along with many beloved nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her daughter, Cathleen Anne Harrison; brother, John O’Hara; her parents, Thomas James O’Hara and Phyllis Moore O’Hara Schank; and step-father, Howard Schank.

A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2022 from 2 – 4 pm at Flanner Buchanan – Broad Ripple.  To honor Maeve’s generous spirit, contributions may be made in her memory to Gleaners Food Bank or Wheeler Mission.
