Lyon Carnes, 80, of Indianapolis went to be with the Lord on September 22, 2020.
Born in Walker, Kentucky he moved to Indiana when he was 18 and met the love of his life, his wife Bonnie who preceded him in death. He is also preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law Lillie and Olus Callebs and his parents Dock and Cardie Carnes.
He is survived by his children: Clifford (Tammy) Carnes, Lois (William) Flora, and Kimberly (Danny) Layton. His grandchildren: Ashley (Allen) Malcomb, Stephen (Stephanie) Carnes, Jenna (Danny) Matlock, Mariah (Jason) Stettenbenz, Elizabeth Flora, Benjamin (Cindy) Flora, Josh Green, and Jennah (Joey) Vanderpohl. Great grandchildren: Kennedy Malcomb, Parker Carnes, Joey Vanderpohl, Madison and baby girl Stettenbenz, Makenna Matlock, Leland and Iyla Briner.
He is also survived by a nephew, Dennis (Carol) Callebs and a niece Teresa (Freddie) Chumley.
Viewing is September 25, 2020 from 10 am to 11:30 am, followed immediately by a celebration of Lyon’s life at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East, 10722 East Washington Street, Indianapolis.
