Lynne Marie Holzhausen

Lynne Marie Holzhausen, 63, of Indianapolis passed away January 31, 2018 at Methodist Hospital.

Lynne was born November 14, 1954 to the late Clyde and Helen Burns Holzhausen of Greenfield. She was a graduate of Marian College in Indianapolis and received her Master’s degree from IUPUI. Lynne had a distinguished career at Eli Lilly, retiring after twenty-seven years. She served as President of the Indiana State Chapter of JDRF for four years, and as board member and major contributor on both state and national levels. She traveled widely, sailing in many parts of the globe. She lovingly cared for a number of cats and horses at “Lynne’s farm.”

Survivors include her sister Carol Hunt (Alan), brother Dan Holzhausen (Kim), nieces and nephews, whom she loved as if they were her own children, Leigh Bobilya, Drew Hunt, Sarah Harmon, Madeline Bradley, Laura Holzhausen, and Jake Holzhausen, and seven great nieces and nephews. Her brother Joe Holzhausen (Pam) preceded her in death. She is also survived by her companion of 40 years, Gary Higdon. Lynne dearly loved and was loved by all her family, friends, and pets. Lynne gained comfort and strength from her strong Catholic faith.

Visitation is Sunday, Feb. 4^th from 1:00 to 4:00 pm at Flanner Buchanan – Geist, 7855 Cork Rd., Indianapolis, 46236. The funeral mass will be held Monday, Feb. 5^th at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Peace, 9001 Haverstick Rd., Indianapolis.
