Lynne Helton, 76, of Zionsville passed away, Friday October 18th, at her sons home after a 15 year, long and courageous battle with cancer. Born April 20, 1943 in St. Albans England. She moved to the United States with her parents when she was 6 years old, and spent her childhood living in New Jersey. As an adult her family home was in Trumbull, CT where she raised 3 boys and was very active in the town and her church. Lynne was employed with the town of Trumbull in many roles, some including the assistant to the chief of police and the finance Department for the board of Education. When she retired she moved to “The Village” in Zionsville where she enjoyed visiting the library, making new friends and knitting blankets for her church ministry. After a few years she became bored and took a couple of small jobs, one at Home Depot taking care of the garden department and the other at Eagle Elementary School as an assistant in the cafeteria. Lynne is predeceased by her parents, Thomas Wilson and Eileen Springings-Smit Wilson. She is survived by her 3 sons John Helton and his wife Jennifer, Gregory Helton and Jeffrey Helton. 3 beautiful Granddaughters, Alyssa Helton, Cady Helton, and Christina Thomas and her husband Daniel, and 2 Great Grandsons Sawyer and Brandon Thomas. A memorial service will be held at Flanner Buchanan-Zionsville, 105 W. Pine, Zionsville on Friday November 1, 2019 at 6pm with calling from 4:30-6pm.
