Luis Orlando Corrales, loving husband and father, left his earthly family on Thursday, October 24th, 2024 after a long battle with Huntington’s Disease. He was 65 years old.
Luis was born in January 1959 in Lima, Peru to the late Alberto Luis Corrales and Rose Marie Velarde Corrales. He immigrated to the United States as a child to California, until he obtained citizenship and joined the United States Air Force in 1977 and worked as an Aircraft Mechanic/Crew Chief. He served honorably for 20 years with several duty stations, two of which were at Spangdahlem, Germany and he served two tours in the Middle East during the Persian Gulf War. He retired in 1997 as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force.
Luis retired to Mesa, Arizona for the next 20 years working for Boeing and American Airlines. He then went on to retire from American Airlines in 2013. He moved to Westfield, IN in 2017 to be closer to his wife’s family.
Luis was devoted to his family and was an avid sports fan. He grew up playing soccer and baseball in school and during his time in the military. He loved taking his kids to Arizona Diamondback and Phoenix Suns games, with the occasional Arizona Cardinal football game. He often would take the kids to California to visit family and take them to Magic Mountain or Knott’s Berry farm. Family was everything to him.
Surviving him in death are his loving wife Donna Jean Corrales, and two children, Evonne Rachel Corrales and Nicolas Luis Corrales, as well as his sister Rosa Greene and extended family of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and our wonderful military family that loved and supported us for many years. Last, but not least, the constant loving care provided to Luis by our family of nursing staff and administration at Aperion of Summerfield in Cloverdale, IN.
His quiet nature and engaging smile touched everyone that knew him and will be in our hearts and minds always. We love you Louie, you were our best friend and Donna’s forever love.
Eternal rest grant onto Luis, O Lord, and let the Perpetual Light shine upon him. May the souls of the faithfully departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
