Lucille VanSant

Lucille VanSant of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away January 9, 2025, surrounded by her loving family at the age of 76 years old. She was born in rural Hendricks County, Indiana to the late Marshall Melvin and Katherine (Jasper) Reed. Lucille had a variety of interest that included Crocheting, she was an avid reader, enjoyed most outdoor activities including gardening and helping to take care of yard, enjoyed solving Word Search puzzles, and she loved spending time with her family. She was loved by many and will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Lucille is survived by her loving husband, Jerry J. VanSant, her children, Christine (Sonny) Scruggs (Daryl Scruggs), Lylia (Larry) Sneed, Lorie (Randy) Burnett-Tackett, Kerry (Chad) Moldon, 21 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, and her sisters, Mary, Kathy, Barbara Ann Murphy. Being one of 15 children in her family, besides her parents she is preceded in death by 5 sisters and 7 brothers. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2025, from 11:00am-2:00pm at Flanner Buchanan Decatur Township with the funeral service immediately following at 2:00pm there. Pastor Chad Padgett will be officiating the service. The family request any memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
