Louise L Marietta
Louise Laughlin Marietta, of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully in the arms of Jesus on January 22, 2021 in Indianapolis. She was born in 1926 and raised in Sullivan, IN. After graduating from Honey Creek High School in Terre Haute, IN, she attended Indiana University in Bloomington. She was a member of Alpha Phi Sorority and later served on its board. She met her husband at IU after he came back from serving in the South Pacific during WWII.
They made their home in Indianapolis, then started their company Arlington Brokerage in 1960. After selling in 1985, they enjoyed traveling, including Europe and China, but her favorite was the Holy Land. Her other interests were Garden Club and Bible Study, along with being an avid sports fan.
She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Family was her priority.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years and love of her life William (Bill) Marietta, her parents Oral and Maude Laughlin; brother, Russell Laughlin; and sisters, Imogene Brady, and Moyne Marietta.
Louise was loved and is survived by her two daughters, Denise Marietta (Edward) Hart and Debra Jeanne Marietta; two granddaughters, Janel Hart (Jason) Chatraw and Christina Hart (Blake) Andrews, and six great-grandchildren, Faith, Julianna, Elijah and Sarabeth Chatraw and Ethan and Ella Andrews.
A private service and entombment were held at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
