Louis “Lou” King, Jr. passed away on the 23rd day of January in the year 2025 at the age of 91. Lou was born on June 1, 1933, in Lamar, Mercer County, West Virginia to Lewis E. and Sylvia M. King. 

 A veteran of the Korean War, he served in the United States Navy from 1951 until being honorably discharged in 1955. He married his beloved wife Frances Sizemore King on December 10, 1954. They had one daughter Malinda Rebecca King Anthony and one son Lewis Eugene King III. Lou and Frances were married for 62 years until her passing in June of 2016. 

Lou joined the Robert E. Kennington Post 34 of the American Legion in 1958 and was a lifelong member. He joined the Loyal Order of Moose in 1998. He worked for RQAW, a consulting engineering company from 1960 until retiring in 2010. 

Preceded in death by his parents, his wife Frances S. King, brother Frederic W. King, brother Robert J. King, and his sister Merlene K. Wall.

Louis is survived by his daughter Malinda King Anthony and her husband James. M. Anthony, son Lewis E. King III, grandson James R. Anthony and his wife Alex Anthony, great granddaughter Lyra Anthony, and granddaughter Anne R. Anthony.

Visitation will be held at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East on Saturday, February 1, 2025, from 11 – 1 pm with funeral services immediately following.
