Loretta M. Green

July 19, 1919 — April 1, 2021

Loretta Green, formerly of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully in her sleep at Moorings Park, Naples, Florida April 1, 2021 at age of 101.  Loretta was born in Vincennes, IN on July 19, 1919 to Wallace & Bertha (Hogue) Williams.  Loretta had five siblings, deceased.

Loretta married Harry B. Green in 1938.  From humble beginnings they worked together while raising a family, building a successful and rewarding business.  Loretta loved traveling, travel study groups, entertaining, golfing, bible study groups, cooking and baking.   Their family walls displayed many Indiana State Fair blue ribbons, as well as artwork of her stitching and collections of seashells.  Loretta was the sweetest, most caring, giving person ever and she had a wonderful sense of humor. Her husband of 58 years, Harry, once said, “She only thinks happy thoughts and kindness”. She also loved playing games and cards, and at 101 could still beat you at a competitive game of gin.

Loretta is survived by her son Paul H. Green (Pat), daughter Janet Green Alonzo (Terry), niece Jacqualin Smith (Bill), 7 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Thursday, April 29, 2021, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, at the Conner Suite at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, 9700 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis, with a service following. To view the livestream of the service, please click here.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Foundation for the Blind, or your favorite charity.

The family wishes to express gratitude and appreciation to the caring staff at Orchid Terrace at Moorings Park, and at Avow Hospice.
