Lorenzo John Henderson was one of four children born to the late Lowry B. and Arintha B. Henderson. He came into the world on June 26, 1952 in Camden, N.J., the second of a twin. As a young boy, Lorenzo was raised in Lawnside, N.J. He accepted Christ as his personal Lord and Savior at an early age and as a teenager, he was an active member of the Chapel of the Annunciation of Lawnside. He was an alter boy and active participant in Sunday school.
He attended Lawnside Elementary School and was a graduate of Haddon Heights High School. After working for Philadelphia National Bank for 2 years after graduating from high school, he joined the U.S. Army in 1971. He spent the next 25 years in the Army travelling all over the world and raising to the highest Army enlisted rank of Sergeant Major (E9). After retiring from the Army, Lorenzo settled down in Indianapolis, Indiana and went to work for the Rolls-Royce Aerospace Corporation, where he spent the next 20 years, retiring on 1 March 2019. In 1998, Lorenzo and his family joined the Eastern Star Church in Indianapolis, Indiana, where he was a member of the Greeters Men of Purpose and Senior Saints ministries.
He leaves to cherish beautiful, fond memories his loving wife: Saundra M. Henderson; his children: Brian A. Henderson (Melissa), Cherisse N. Henderson, Jarvis R. Henderson, Marlissa Brunson (Franklin) and Alexander Sutton; and one brother, Lloyd D. Henderson. Lorenzo just wants everyone to know that he had been “BLESSED” everyday of his life and now he’s going to live with his Heavenly Father.
