Lois “Joy” Thomas, 88, of Indianapolis, passed away on January 18, 2017. Born on May 1, 1928 to the late Dayton and Audrey Neff in Russiaville, IN. She graduated from Carroll County Schools and married Richard Thomas on October 24, 1947. She worked for a brief time for Biodynamics which is now Roche, she was a census taker, and worked for many years at Piazza Produce.
She was a lover of nature, music, and dance and she enjoyed decorating. She cherished her family and took particular joy in her grandchildren. She was a member of Sweet Adeline’s singing group, and Good Day Cloggers a dancing group, she never grew tired of dancing and out danced most everyone she knew.
Joy is survived by her husband Richard Thomas, two children; Gary A. Thomas (Janice) of Golden, CO, and Lesa M. Thomas (Becki Bundy), of Indianapolis, IN, a granddaughter, Kim Bentz (Doug). She is preceded in death by her parents, two children; Rick and Jill Thomas and her grandson, Dayton Thomas.
A memorial graveside will take place at a later date in the spring.
