Lois Geiver Barnes, 98, of Fishers, IN, formerly of Evansville, IN, passed away April 27, 2022 in her home. Lois was born on October 8, 1923 in Watertown, SD to the late William and Elba Geiver.
Lois was a graduate of Washington High School in Sioux Falls, SD. She proudly worked for law offices her whole career starting at age 17. She served as the Administrator for Gerling Law Offices in Evansville, IN for many years before retiring. After retirement, she moved with her husband to Indianapolis, IN. Nothing gave her more joy than being close to her only grandchild, Emily. Lois lived with her daughter and family since 2009 and was a true blessing. Lois kept busy by reading mystery books, working crossword puzzles, and spending time with her daughter and family. She loved to travel and sightsee. She always accompanied them on family trips and adventures. Lois was also devoted to Lola, her precious furbaby. She was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold, and four siblings. She is survived by her daughter, Amy (Francis Xavier) Seidl of Fishers, IN, granddaughter, Emily Seidl of Estero, FL, sister, Joyce Prang of Rapid City, SD, sister, Joan Sharp of Montrose, SD, and many nieces and nephews.
There was a private viewing Monday, May 2, 2022 in Fishers, IN. A graveside service and burial will take place on Friday, May 6, 2022 at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Sioux Falls, SD. There will be a memorial service Saturday, June 18, 2022 at 11:00 am at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 8115 Oaklandon Rd, Indianapolis, IN.
