Logan “Skip” Rushing, 79, passed away at home surrounded by family December 27, 2022. He was born January 12, 1943, in Houston, Texas to Henry & Jessie Irene (Nettleton) Rushing.
Skip joined the Navy in his younger years and served honorably for four years. Upon his discharge from the military, he began a career as an engineer with Western Electric in Indianapolis. Then he married his high school sweetheart Martha Jane Williams. After several years he and his family followed his job to Louisiana then again to Ohio. When Skip retired in 2001, he returned to Indianapolis.
Several years afterwards, Martha passed. Skip met up with an old friend and fell in love again. After many years as partners, Logan and Linda (Woods) Rushing were married in 2021.
Skip was a proud member of the NRA. He enjoys educating anyone he met on gun safety.
He is survived by his wife Linda, son Kevin (Janine) Rushing, daughter-in-law Vickie (Jackson) Rushing, stepdaughter Tina (Brian) Everts, his brother Bill (Grace) Rushing, 7 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Mark, siblings Dean, Gene, and Lynnette, and stepsons Tom and Todd Alexander.
Skip will be buried in Crystal Springs Cemetery in Benton Harbor, Michigan.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Skip’s honor to the American Cancer Society.
Viewing will be 1-2 p.m. Thursday, January 5, 2023, at Flanner Buchanan – Speedway at 2950 N. High School Road in Indianapolis, with military honors and funeral starting at 2 p.m.
Following services, a luncheon will follow at Courtyard by Marriott at 6315 Crawfordsville Road in Speedway.
