Liza (Elizabeth) Marie Angelicchio

Liza (Elizabeth) Marie Angelicchio gained her angel wings on July9, 2016 after an extended battle with Leukemia and the complications that arosefrom her treatment. Liza was born inIndianapolis, IN on October 28, 1989. She was a life-long resident of New Palestine, IN and graduated in 2008from New Palestine High School. Sheattended Morehead State University, Morehead, KY from 2008 until December2012. She was only 2 classes short ofgraduation requirements when she was diagnosed with Acute LymphoblasticLeukemia. She received a Stem Celltransplant in February of 2013. Afteranother 2 years, she was able to finish her degree and earned her B.S. fromMorehead State in December 2015.

Liza’s passions included gymnasticsand competitive cheerleading. After herdiagnosis however, her passion changed to helping others in need of stem celltransplants. She was employed byBeTheMatch.org, the National Bone Marrow Registry. She had numerous speaking engagements sharingher story and helping to educate the public on the importance of joining theregistry. She was an inspiration to manyand her love of life attitude allowed her to overcome many of the healthobstacles that she encountered over the last 3 1/2 years.

Liza is survived by herparents, John D. and Terri A. (Chaplin) Angelicchio, and sister, Natalie C.Angelicchio, of New Palestine, IN. Grandmothers Dorothy J. Chaplin and Mary Louise Angelicchio, of Indianapolis,IN. Numerous Aunts, Uncles and Cousinsand her faithful companion, her Golden-doodle, Cooper.

Visitation will be on Wednesday,July 13, 2016 from 2:00 pm until 9:00 pm at the Flanner and Buchanan-Washington Park East- Community Life Center, 10612 E. Washington St.,Indianapolis, IN 46229. Funeral serviceswill be on Thursday, July 14, 2016 at 11:00 am at the Community Life Center.
