Lisa Kay Weiper, 63, passed away on January 30, 2018 after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Lisa was born on May 5, 1954 in Louisville, Kentucky and after residing in Sellersburg, Indiana for a brief period her parents, Thomas and Fay Moore, moved the family to the Irvington area of Indianapolis. She followed in her mother’s footsteps as a graduate of Thomas Carr Howe High School and graduated with the class of 1972. Lisa then earned her RN from Indiana Central and later earned her BSN from the University of Indianapolis. Lisa’s dedicated and caring ways made her an invaluable surgical nurse and shift coordinator at IU Health North Hospital.
Lisa married her soulmate, Rex Weiper, in 1983 and together they raised four remarkable children: daughter Cheryl (Brandon) Vieceli, sons Kurt (Katie), Stephen and Christopher Weiper (fiancée Kayla Priday). Lisa was a wonderful and loving sibling to her brother Glenn Moore and sister-in-law Charlene Moore and to her sister Holly Fortune.
Lisa loved being with her family, especially her grandchildren: Anthony Vieceli, Norah, Maggie, and Rose Weiper. Lisa was an energetic and enthusiastic advocate of and participant in her children’s many activities including Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Tae Kwan Do, dance classes, hockey, football, soccer, softball, baseball and basketball. She instilled her passion for reading in her children and loved spending time with her family at their cottage on Lake Tippecanoe. Lisa was known by all for her quiet, selfless, dedicated, and generous nature that made her the kind of friend everyone wishes they had. Lisa converted to Catholicism and was a long-time member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Carmel, Indiana.
