Mr. Lindbergh Guyse was born on October 1, 1929 in Forest, Mississippi. He was the son of Charlie Guyse and Henrietta Burks Guyse.
He professed a hope in Christ Jesus and was baptized by the late Rev. James Earl King at Ebenezer Baptist Church. He later moved his membership to Salt Of The Earth Baptist Church.
Mr. Guyse moved to Indianapolis as a teenager for better opportunities. He worked as a cook, cafeteria manager, butcher, and meat packer but found his love and passion as the small business owner of Guyse and Son Catering.
Mr. Guyse loved to cook and share his food with others. He was also a great gardener willing to share his knowledge and skills.
“Guyse” was fun loving and loved to be around family and friends. His grandchildren and great granddaughter was his heart. He loved to challenge them along with other family and friends in a “friendly” game of Dominos.
Lindbergh was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Arnetta M. Herring; brothers, John D. Brown, Pearl “Little Brother” Halbert, Rev. Charles L. Guyse, Billie James Guyse, Buford Guyse and sisters, Evelyn B Guyse and Julia Guyse Towns.
On October 9, 2018 at the age of 89 years old, Mr. Lindbergh Guyse departed this life. He leaves to cherish his memory daughters Linda T. and Mildred A. Guyse, Theresa M. (Lonnie) Mabry; son, Marcus (Mercedes) Guyse; grandchildren, Timothy J. Smith of Ft. Wayne, IN, Christina D. Guyse, Mark A. Brown, Jr., Alijah Guyse, Madison A. Guyse, Victoria Guyse and great grandchildren, Alycia Smith, Mariah A. Brown, Timothy J. Smith, Jr. of Ft. Wayne, IN, and sister-in-law, Margaret Guyse of Decatur, IL. Mr. Guyse also had a special granddaughter, Brooklyn Sheppard and special friend, Aggrey “Andre” Asava along with his neighbors on Pruitt St. In addition, Mr. Guyse leaves a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, church family, and friends to mourn his loss.
