Linda Kay Patterson, of Indianapolis, IN, went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 6, 2024, on the eve of her 86th birthday, after a long struggle with dementia. She was born on August 7, 1938, to Francis and Audrey Lee. In 1956, Linda graduated from Southport High School, then attended Ball State University to study music. Prior to college, Linda met Don Patterson on August 13 during a church workday. She noticed Don was operating his new bulldozer, and she captured his heart with a cold drink of water, which began their famous "13th Love Story". They were married on December 13, 1956, and have celebrated 815 special anniversaries on the 13th of every month.
Linda loved to worship God with her voice, blessing many. She also was an accomplished musician who played organ, piano, and cello. She served the Lord through Bible Memory Association, Awana Clubs, Child Evangelism Fellowship, International Christian Broadcasters, and Lifegate Ministry, who print "God's Simple Plan of Salvation" tracts.
Linda supported her husband by doing anything he needed to keep his farming and excavating work successful. She was also supportive of her children and community by serving as a 4-H leader.
As a patriot and active member of the American Party, Linda ran for Vice President of the United States, and later for the Superintendent of Public Instruction for the State of Indiana.
Linda is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Don Patterson of 67 years. The family includes: their children Donella (Robert - deceased) Fulton, (Baby Leah Marie - deceased), Randy (Beverly) Patterson, Rose (Ed) Gagen, and Trudie (Michael) Matthews; grandchildren Caleb Fulton, Chris, Brett, and (Nikki - deceased) Lanpher, Jonathan (Victoria) and Esther Matthews; great-grandchildren Kierstyn, Madyson, Kylie, and Aeris; parents (Francis and Audrey Lee - deceased); sisters Gretchen Mae Fisher, and (Tonetta Crock - deceased); sisters-in-law Vera Thompson and Mamie Matkins, Don's siblings (August, Russell, Hattie, Loretta, Marlin - deceased), and numerous nieces and nephews.
