Linda Lee Bloss, 88 of Indianapolis, passed away Sunday April 17, 2022. Linda was born on September 23, 1933, in Lafayette, IN to Donald E. Speer and Helen S. (Kemmer) Speer. She married Robert W. Bloss on July 17, 1954. They were married 47 years until Bob’s death in 2001.
Linda graduated from West Lafayette High School and attended both Indiana University and DePauw University. She was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority.
In 1952 Linda was initiated into the P.E.O. sisterhood and was an active member until her death. From 1975 to 1982, she served in various state offices, before serving as the Indiana State P.E.O. president in 1982.
Linda was a founding member of Lifepointe Church located in Westfield, IN. She was deeply committed to the church, and her service there brought her tremendous joy. She excelled at making newcomers feel welcome and prayed consistently for the Lord’s guidance over the ministries of the church.
Linda enjoyed travelling. She and Bob took their young family on several trips out west and to Florida for vacations. In retirement, Linda and Bob visited Alaska, Hawaii, Europe, and Israel. Linda loved horseback riding and owned two horses during her lifetime.
Linda is survived by three sons: William (Sue) Bloss, Mark (former wife Pam) Bloss, both of Indianapolis, and David Bloss (family friend, Elaine Kewin) of Flower Mound, TX. She is also survived by eight grandchildren: Jacob (Amber) Bloss, Kathleen Bloss, Robert (Ruth) Bloss, Christopher Bloss, Rebekah (Matthew) Bastin, Richard (Madalyn) Bloss, Daniel Bloss, and Sarah (Marc) Martinez. She has five great grandchildren: Conner Bloss, Keegan Bloss, Kendall Bloss, Patrick Bloss, and Elliott Martinez. She is also survived by a sister: Susan McCord, as well as nephews John (Eden) Bloss, Shane (Diane) McCord, and Lance (Tammy) McCord, as well as nieces Caroline Bloss, Marye Miller, and Catherine Alto.
In addition to her parents and husband, Linda was predeceased by her daughter-in-law Kristy Bloss.
Visitation for Linda Bloss will be held on Sunday April 24th from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Lifepointe Church located at 3233 West 166th Street, Westfield, IN with a memorial service at 4:00 pm. Interment will be at Crown Hill Cemetery.
