Linda Kathleen Malooley

Linda Kathleen Malooley (Romoser) 70, of Terre Haute, Indiana passed away peacefully in the loving care of her family on June 13, 2017. Linda had fought a courageous battle against an aggressive form of breast cancer. She will be deeply missed.

Linda was born in Terre Haute, IN on June 8, 1947 to the late Harry and Elizabeth Romoser (Losh), the eldest of seven children. She attended Schulte Catholic High School and was an alumni of both Indiana State University and Indiana University. In her early 20s, she moved to Niles, MI where she raised her two children. While living in Michigan, Linda coordinated customer events for Tyler Refrigeration for sixteen years and then worked at Signal Travel. She was also well-known in the community for her small craft business. Upon her return to Terre Haute in 2001, she became the Associate Director for the Providence Center at St. Mary of the Woods, a position she held until her retirement in 2014. She was a parishioner of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church.
Linda loved gardening, crafting, and organizing get-togethers with her family and friends. She especially enjoyed the company of her eight grandchildren who affectionately called her “Grandma Loopy”. Linda’s greatest passion was family genealogy and regional history. She was an avid preservationist and a long-time member of the Wabash Valley Genealogical Society, serving on its board for several years including a term as President. Her curiosity about her family’s immigrant story led her to retrace their steps through the Black Forest region of Germany, reuniting with long-lost relatives in the original Romoser house in Bad Herrenalb, fulfilling a genealogist’s dream.
Linda is survived by her two children, son, Brian Malooley, his wife Cat and their four children, Solon, Titian, Tanis, and Octavian and her daughter, Kristi Mitchell (Malooley), husband Nick and their four children Garrett, Cade, Rylan, and Grant. She is also survived by siblings Ken Romoser (Brenda), Bernie Romoser, Pat Romoser (Debbie), Rick Romoser (Twila) and Carol (Romoser) Davis (Dave). She was proceeded in death by a brother, Greg Romoser. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
