Linda S. Fisher

July 3, 1942 — October 31, 2024

Indianapolis

Linda Sue Fisher, long time East-side resident, passed away on October 31st after a lengthy illness. She was born in Terre Haute on July 3, 1942, to Robert and Mary Jackson. She graduated from Indiana State University with a degree in Business Education and a master’s degree in education. She taught at New Castle High School and Lowell Elementary in Warren Township.

In August 1967 Linda married Bill Fisher, her beloved husband of 57 years. She was a member of Ideas Unlimited Home Makers club with whom she maintained many long-lasting friendships over the years. After retiring, Linda and Bill enjoyed cruises to Alaska and the Caribbean, trips to National Parks and spending winters in Destin, Florida. But what she enjoyed even more than travelling was spending time with family, especially her grandchildren, attending a wide variety of their activities and sporting events. Linda will be remembered for her warm smile and incredibly kind spirit.

She is survived by her husband Bill; daughters Ann Broviak and Susan Averitt (Jason); four grandchildren (Michael, Megan, Sam, Kate); sister Peg Myers of Terre Haute; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2024 from 12PM-2PM at Flanner Buchanan-Memorial Park, 9350 E. Washington St. Indianapolis, Indiana, 46229. A funeral service will begin at 2PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you contribute to the American Cancer Society or the charity of your choice.
